Finding the right location for your newborn session is one of the first steps we’ll take after booking and once baby arrives. Whether you prefer your photos at home, in a studio, or outdoors (weather permitting), there are so many options in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. For families looking for an at-home feeling, newborn photos at the Beverly Harris House is a perfect match.
As a DFW lifestyle newborn photographer, many of my clients are drawn to the cozy, slow feeling of the first few weeks and months with baby. There is something so special about documenting your family in a way that feels natural and true to you. But, for some clients, sometimes home doesn’t feel like the right fit for photos for your family – and that’s completely okay. That’s where finding a cozy studio space can be a perfect alternative.
The Beverly Harris House in McKinney is one of my favorite studio spaces for newborn sessions and family photos. It has all the warmth and comfort of a home without actually being your home.
Take a peek below at some recent newborn photos at the Beverly Harris House in McKinney.

Why Take Your Newborn Photos at the Beverly Harris House
The Beverly Harris House is located in McKinney, just north of Dallas, and a great fit for your next indoor photos. There are so many spaces to use throughout the property, and each one is well-lit with soft creamy tones making it a simple and beautiful backdrop. It has a cozy feel helping to bring comfort and those lifestyle touches so many families are drawn to.
While I love in-home newborn sessions and think there is something incredibly meaningful about photographing your family in your own space, I know that sometimes a studio is still a preferred choice. Sometimes families don’t have a lot of natural light, or the thought of a day away from the house sounds more appealing, or maybe they simply love the look and feel of neutral backdrops. Taking your newborn photos at the Beverly Harris House offers a relaxed, cozy space. It’s a great option for creating beautiful newborn photos that feel like your family.
Every room of the house gets great light at different times of day. This newborn session was photographed mid-morning and each room we used was beautifully lit. The outdoor spaces are fun to use too and add a variety to your gallery. There’s a wide front porch and plenty of room out back as well. Depending on the time of day, we’ll find the best space to use.

What a Lifestyle Session Feels Like in a Studio
All of my newborn sessions take a lifestyle, baby-led approach. We always follow baby’s lead, and big brother’s or big sister’s too! Rather than focusing on posing or a sleeping baby, we’ll focus instead on the connection and love within your family. Whether baby is wide awake, wants to snuggle in your arms, or sound asleep – we’ll capture your family in a way that is natural and true to you. And with the Beverly Harris House, we can move in and out of rooms to get a variety of shots.
I’ve had the honor of photographing this family before, so getting to see them again as their family grows was such a blessing. As a DFW newborn photographer, being able to see families over the years is always such a privilege.
