As a Fort Worth maternity photographer, spring and summer makes for the perfect time for a maternity session. The greenery and wildflowers look so beautiful in Dallas and Fort Worth during this time of year. This year was no different, thanks to the heavy rain we got in Fort Worth and Dallas, making everything look even more vibrant.

This past spring in Fort Worth was one of the rainiest I’ve ever seen, which meant rescheduling a lot of photo sessions because of the unpredictable weather. The maternity session featured in this blog was one of those—we moved it from a windy, potentially rainy evening to a gorgeous spring evening. I am so glad we did because look at how beautiful this evening was.

As a natural light photographer in Fort Worth, I love a sunny day! Although I will do sessions on cloudy days, my preference is definitely sunny ones—the way the light helps tell a story is one of my favorite things about photography. This is one of the many reasons I limit the number of portrait sessions I take on each month. If we can reschedule for perfect weather and light, I always recommend it because, trust me, the right light makes all the difference!

I’m really excited to see this family again soon for their newborn session and to meet their sweet baby! Here’s a few more favorites from this Fort Worth maternity session.
