There’s something extra special about slow family photo sessions. And a morning session brings the soft light, cooler temperatures, and slower pace that feels just right for young families. This recent session at the Kimbell Art Museum with a sweet family of three was the perfect example. Their little one is just shy of turning one and was full of curiosity, giggles, and those wobbly first steps. We spent the morning following his lead and soaking in the quiet, in-between moments. Slow family sessions highlight the meaning of family photos: special moments, new memories, and sweet details that are forever documented.
The Kimbell’s simple surroundings offered a timeless backdrop perfect for letting us focus on their connection. One of my favorite moments from this session was watching the baby boy (and his parents) dip his little toes in the water. It was something brand new for him, and documenting that first experience was such a sweet reminder of what family photos are all about.
