Fall is just around the corner and it’s time to start deciding on locations for fall family photos. The cooler weather and fall colors make for one of the prettiest times of year for family photos. Fort Worth offers a variety of beautiful backdrops, including open fields, stunning lake views, fall foliage, naturally-lit studios, and beautiful architecture. As a Fort Worth family photographer, I have a list of my favorite locations. Some are secret gems, while others are popular locations. In this blog, I am sharing 5 popular locations for fall photos in Fort Worth.
Kimbell Art Museum
Nothing says Fort Worth quite like the stunning architecture at the Kimbell Art Museum. With its modern design, this location offers a lot of variety. From water features and vine-covered walls to beautiful arches, the Kimbell Art Museum is a popular photo location. And when the fall light hits just right, it is magical.

Benbrook Parks
The Benbrook area, not far from downtown Fort Worth, has quite a few different parks that make for perfect locations for fall family photos. Two of my favorite are Oakmont Park and Dutch Branch Park. Both parks offer open fields, tall grass, and fall trees – making it perfect for a gallery with variety.

Airfield Falls
This is a Fort Worth location that I love year-round! Hidden in Westworth Village, this location has a beautiful creek and waterfall, only a 10-minute walk from the entrance. It’s an ideal spot for full-length family sessions, offering plenty to explore – grassy fields, beautiful tree lines, a weeping willow, and water to splash around in. This location can get very crowded and has limited parking so it is best for sessions that take place early morning or weekday evenings.

North Fort Worth Park with Lake Views
This park is another one of my absolute favorite locations year-round! The combination of fields, gravel trails, lake views, and gorgeous fall colors makes it an ideal spot for both morning and evening sessions. And with a wide variety of backdrops, we are able to easily move around within the park. This location is popular for family photos, hikers, and mountain bikers, so I recommend scheduling your session here in the early morning or on weekday evenings to avoid crowds.

Studio Locations
Fort Worth and Dallas offers several beautiful studio locations. With bright, naturally-lit spaces, studio sessions eliminate most weather concerns and provide a perfect, simple location for fall family photos. My two favorite locations for studios are The Lumen Room and Wild Oak Studio because of the amount of natural light.

Whether we choose one of the popular photo locations or one from my more private list, I’ll help you make the perfect choice. And, don’t stress about locations for fall family photos, remember, the focus of your photos is not the location – it’s your family.
